The Autism Awareness Challenge has been hosted in the North Brunswick Community Park every year since its founding almost two decades ago. Local baseball and softball teams come together to raise awareness for autism and play games.
The event begins with a dinner at the Piscataway Magnet High School that brings together everyone that worked to put the event together along with coaches and some players.
The event names a home run hero every year to whom a donation is made for each home run hit. Ben Leary was named this year’s home run hero as he is a third grader from Colonia who is currently battling Leukemia.
