The Fall Play: Clue

Great things are happening after school in the MHS auditorium. For the past two months, the Footlighters have been rehearsing for their first performance of the school year: Clue. Under the direction of Ms. Jacobi, they’ve been learning lines, blocking, and bringing the classic board game to life. The play starts with Wadsworth, the butler (senior Luke Krombholz), and Yvette, the maid (junior Manali Weller), welcoming a group of unacquainted guests into Boddy Manor. These quirky characters include Mrs. White (senior Meredith Inverso), Ms. Scarlet (junior Saanvi Karthik), Mr. Plum (senior Zoe Sonevytsky), Mr. Green (junior Ryan Stein), Mrs. Peacock (junior Emily Grosso), and Colonel Mustard (sophomore Daniel Stone). The guests quickly realize that there is a reason they were all brought together and that their hosts and Boddy Manor are not what they seem.

All the cast members have raved about how amazing the show is and are looking forward to their performances. Saanvi Karthik is a junior who will perform the role of the cunning Ms. Scarlet. She’s been active in Footlighters since her freshman year and remarked, “I’m looking forward to seeing the show come together and watch how the audience reacts! It’s always so much fun on stage with a good crowd!” Over the past few years, she’s had great experiences in the plays and musicals, sharing, “Footlighters is full of fun and you get to know people that you otherwise wouldn’t get a chance to interact with.” Freshman Shailen Gandhi, who will be playing Mr. Boddy, has been involved in musicals throughout middle school, and like Saanvi, found friendship in Footlighters. He commented, “The people in the play become a community, and that’s what you can gain: A community of people laughing and having fun trying to create something together.” There will be 3 performances of the show: November 15th at 7:00, November 16th at 2:00, and November 16th at 7:00. Tickets for the show will be sold for $15.00 on November 11th and 12th in the morning, as well as online at MHSFootlighters.com. Come see the show and be prepared to join a talented cast and crew on a rollercoaster of surprises and mystery!
