The boys soccer team won the first round of the GMC invitational tournament at home against Wardlaw-Hartridge with 5-1 victory. They then advanced past the quarterfinals after beating Spotswood on the road 4-2. The sixth seed Bulldogs fell to the second seed South Plainfield Tigers 2-0 in the semifinal round. The boys soccer team was matched with Point Pleasant Boro in the first round of the state tournament where they closed their season out with a 5-2 loss. The boys ended their season with an 8-9-2 record.
The field hockey team won the first round of the GMC tournament with a 2-1 win over Monroe. The girls then traveled to East Brunswick for the semifinal round and lost to the Bears 4-1. In between the GMC and state tournament, the team put up a 0-0 tie against a strong Mount St. Mary team. The field hockey team fell 4-0 to Johnson in the first round of the state tournament to end their season. The team ended with an 8-9-1 record.
The football team finished their season with four consecutive wins including two NJSIAA crossover games against Highland Park and North Plainfield and three shutouts. In their last four games, the Bulldog’s score differential was 119-20. The team finished with a 5-5 record.
The girls soccer team finished their season with a two-game run in the GMC tournament. The Bulldogs went in as the sixth seed and were matched against the 11th seeded Colonia Patriots and came out with a 1-0 win. In the second round, they fell to the third seed Old Bridge Knights. The girls then began their state tournament with a comfortable 3-0 win in the first round at home against Bordentown. The Bulldogs fell to Rumson-Fair Haven in a 3-1 loss to close out their season. The girls soccer team finished their season with a 14-6-1 record.
Girls tennis advanced past Spotswood with a 5-0 victory in the first round of the state tournament. The girls beat Edison Magnet in the quarterfinal round with a close 3-2 win. They met Highland Park in the semifinals where they lost 3-2, but finished out their season with five consecutive wins. The team ended with an impressive 13-2 record.
The boys and girls cross country teams each had successful seasons. The boys ended as White Division Champions, NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 1 Champions, and NJSIAA State Group 1 Champions. They placed third place overall in the GMC championships. The girl’s cross country team won the Red Division, NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 1, and NJSIAA State Group 1. The girls also placed first in the GMC championship.
