The Metuchen High School Girls' Basketball team has had a fantastic season with only a few games remaining. As of February 20th, they boast an impressive record of 21-4, with a current division record of 13-1 in the GMC Blue division. In January, the Bulldogs had an incredible six-game winning streak and are currently on a three-game winning streak.

Under the leadership of Coach Glutz, the Girls’ Basketball team has achieved several key victories in recent weeks. The Bulldogs won 55-47 against Brearly on February 15th and triumphed 45-38 against Woodbridge last week. They have four standout players who made the All-Division teams: Senior Kaitlyn Connors and Junior Vicky Zaniecki for the All-Blue Division First Team, and Junior Lucie Pallotta and Sophomore Sammie Powers for the All-Blue Division Second Team.

The Bulldogs have also recorded some outstanding statistics this season. Junior Vicky Zaniecki has led the team with an impressive 445 points so far, bringing her all-time points from her high school career to 867. Kaitlyn Connors leads the team in three-pointers and assists, with a total of 42 three-pointers and 158 assists for the 2024-2025 season.

The Girls' Basketball team will face Wall in their first round of States on February 27th. They are currently the sixth seed in Central Jersey Group 2. The game time is yet to be determined, but everyone should come out to support the Bulldogs and their three seniors: Ava Barasch, Kaitlyn Connors, and Josie Gray.
