In those chilly months at the beginning of the year, walking to school can be a struggle. Even if you drive, those moments rushing from the car to the school feel torturous.
There are lots of tips out there to get you through these frosty months, and if you stick to them, you’ll get by just fine.
Putting a hat on when your toes are cold really does work, and when your head is cold, putting socks on helps as well! Putting a coat, scarf, or sweater on before you get out into the cold is also vital; it’s better to start out warm than to be forced to warm up.
Layers are also essential; a lot of the time it’s colder in the mornings than it is in the afternoon but that doesn’t mean you’ll want to lose your inch thick coat only to be wearing a thin T-shirt for your walk back home. Having multiple layers to put in your locker or backpack can be life-savers.
Gloves are also more important than you think. Sometimes it’s too easy to forget those little strips of fabric but it’s worth it to put in the effort to avoid potential hazards. Fingers freeze extremely fast and it’s no fun when you have to hold something in your hands while walking through the cold. Keep your gloves in your jacket pocket or leave them close to your door so you don’t forget them.
With all these tips, either teaching you new things or reminding you of what you already knew, make sure to stay warm this winter!
