Our Girls’ Soccer team has had a successful season, with a 15-5 record nearing the end of October. The Bulldogs have played against some tough competition this year; their most notable competitor is Spotswood, who they won and lost against this season. Metuchen and Spotswood are co-champions in the GMC White Division, and the Bulldogs are 11-1 in their division. During their first match-up, the Bulldogs won dramatically with an overtime goal by Kaitlyn Connors, assisted by Julia Hajjar, ending with a 3-2 score. Another close game was against North Brunswick, where the girls won 1-0 with Sarah Hyman scoring the winning goal and Kaitlyn Connors with the assist. The girls have dominated this season, outscoring their opponents 56-16 in 20 games.

Senior Captain Sarah Hyman leads the team’s scoring with 27 goals, followed by sophomore Rose Surgan, who scored seven goals and eight assists in the season. Senior Captain Kaitlyn Connors leads with assists on the team with eight goals and 22 assists. Likewise, the Bulldogs’ defensive line has been outstanding, resulting in many shutout games this season. In their Group 1 Division, the Bulldogs are seeded 1st and are expected to make it very far in the tournament.
