The 2024 Election

The 2024 election is under a year away, but it is never too early to get educated on the different candidates that are running. Numerous candidates are running for both parties, and while many will drop out closer to the election, it is helpful to be informed of all the candidates before you make your vote.

To start off, for the Republicans the candidates are Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie, Asa Hutchingson, and Doug Burgum. The Democratic candidates are Joe Biden, Marianne Williamson, Kamala Harris, and Dean Phillips. The independents are Robert Kennedy, Cornel West, and Jill Stein.

Early polling is saying that it is likely that Biden and Trump will have a rematch in the 2024 election, however many Americans are not thrilled about this. According to polls, 75% of Americans think Biden should not run again, and 69% believe that Trump should not. Many are concerned with the effectiveness of these candidates due to their age. A staggering 80% of Americans think that Biden is too old to be effective for four more years. Others are also concerned with Trump's criminal record, which includes him being indicted four times and facing trial next year.

Although there are many candidates for both sides, it is likely that Trump and Biden will be the final candidates. Many of the people running are unknown to most of America, so it can be difficult for them to gain support. According to polling, the most popular republican candidates besides Trump are either Nikki Haley or Ron Desantis. For the Democrats, besides Biden, another popular candidate is current Vice President Kamala Harris. For those worried about the effectiveness of Trump or Biden in office, they can still hold out hope that another candidate will be elected.
