Life Awakens

Moss creeps up the tree bark,

Petals flutter to the ground

Seeds break out of their shells beneath soil

Lush plants sprout in their wake

Rays of sunlight splinter through thick leaves

Puddles of water sparkle

Bees flutter and pollinate from plant to plant

Squirrels chatter

Scale thin branches like acrobats

Birds chirp from their nests high above

Their hatchlings opening their eyes

For the first time

You close your eyes

And listen to the leaves swaying

The breeze whistling

And the quiet peace of the grove.

You feel the sun rays on your skin

Basking in its heat and energy

Humid greenery pressing

Tall grass tickling your ankles

Months later winter will come again

Life will sleep

The cycle continues.
